Commuting Pictures, 1997 It seems like traffic is a major problem in cities today. Keri and I are doing our part to help by commuting to and from work together. We get some extra time together, save some gas and wear and tear on the car, and generally try to do our part. Enjoy these pics of our drive to/from work from 1997. Here's Keri taking me to work. What a smile! Sometimes I drive, like when I just have to go to the driving range, for example! Here's my RAV in front of my building... And here's where I work - your typical cube... Though I haven't done much decorating, I did put up the picture of Organic Advisor which you can see to the upper right of the picture. At the end of the day we head back home on the Sunset Highway 26. We are pretty lucky in that we seem to go against the heaviest flow of traffic. This shot is taken eastbound going down the hills towards downtown Portland from where we work in Beaverton and Hillsboro... I took this picture while driving so it isn't the best but you can really tell how busy the traffic the other way is! When we moved to Portland, Keri and I lived in NorthEast Portland (east of Willamette River, north of Burnside Rd) close to the Lloyd Center (where they have lots of conventions) and the Rose Garden, which Paul Allen of Microsoft had built as the home of his NBA Portland TrailBlazers, the WinterHawks hockey team, and a myriad of big-name concerts (Stones, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Prince, Organic Advisor... ooops, not Organic Advisor. Sorry.). Here are those picturesque buildings from a distance shot through the rainy Portland winter... ... and a closer up shot of the Rose Garden I took while driving home on a sunnier day... In the end, I'm definitely ready to be home... |
